I obviously bought this video because I'm getting in shape and needed a good workout for my "home" days. This was a great choice! Even level one is quite difficult for a beginner. Having said that, this is why I gave it only a "good" rating instead of "excellent". The beginner modifications on level 1 are not very beginner, so to speak but if you really give it your ALL then you will be at level 2 in a week or so. All in all, a great video! I highly recommend it if you are SERIOUS about getting fit. I lost 10 lbs in 30 days by eating right, exercise (with this video and cardio/walking), sleeping well, and plenty of water! Good Luck!
I really like the 3-2-1 workout that Jillian has put together on this DVD. 3 min of strength, 2 min of cardio, and 1 min of abs repeated, but with different moves, 3 times to give a complete 20 minute workout. I just finished my 5th day of level one and am feeling the change starting to happen. The dvd arrangement however is kind of weird at least on my player. It always starts on level two so I have to go to disc menu, but instead of going to the menu like it should it goes to the very beginning and I have to listen to the whole intro. This is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.
I read a lot of reviews and talked to a few people about 30 Day Shred before buying it. Most people said even Level 1 is intense and exhausting. I tried it for the first time last night figuring I wouldn't be able to fully do most of the workout. I was surprised that with the exception of push ups, I didn't really have to modify any of the workout. I also thought I'd be really sore today and moving slow but I only have a dull ache in my muscles, nothing bad at all. I have done Jillian's No More Trouble Zones a few times with a friend and could barely walk the next day. So I don't know if I've just built up strength since then, or if this workout is much less intense. It was probably a month or so ago that I tried the No More Trouble Zones dvd. Since then I've only been doing Zumba, so I haven't done much in the way of strength training. I read reviews from very fit, athletic people who said this was a hard workout for them. I'm active but out of shape and overweight. I don't think it was that bad. Don't get me wrong, I was drenched in sweat. But don't believe the people who say this is more for people who are already in decent shape. Most people should be able to do this workout.Read full review
I was looking for a great workout to do on my lunch hour and this has delivered. I get a high intensity workout and I know it's working because I am sore everytime I move up a level. I am already in great shape and this DVD challenges me everytime, and because it is only 20 minutes I don't get bored. I love how Jillian pushes you to work past your own limitations and achieve excellent results. I have been using this workout for more than 30 days and I am in much better shape than before starting this workout. I have already ordered more of Jillians workouts.
Love this video. I lost 4 inches off my waist in just 3 workouts- 1 week. I am amazed at how well this work. I couldn't find time to workout and here is a workout that kicks your butt and you get results. I am so excited about this video. I even bought one for a good friend of mine and we are competing with each other to see who can lose the most weight and/or inches. Seriously, if you use this video you will see results in just a few days. I tried on my medium pants, that I had been trying to get in for months, just before I got the workout video in the mail and in one week exactly I was able to fit in my medium pants. I was beside myself. I have worked out for years and couldn't get the weight off. I seriously recommend this to anyone who wants to feel better and be fit. And its not hard at all. It is really very basic stuff. And just when you think you can't do anymore it switches to another move. I wish you well and hope you get the same results as my friend and I have.
