With one exception, and this is my opinion, books are to be read not heard. And another exception, one if the stories is best seen, not heard. The title story makes little or no sense. These four stories were selected from the book "Nightmares & Dreamscapes," by the great Stephen King. And with the vast selection of stories to be put on CD, this is probably the worst from the book. "The Fifth Quarter" is much better on paper. It was put on film & included in "Nightmares & Dreamscapes" 3-DVD set. To listen to it doesn't have the same effect. "The Night Flyer" was decent to read, but not much fun to hear. It was made into a semi-major movie. The full length movie is superb. It is kind of hard to find, but great if you can come across it! The highlight, and alone worth the price of the cd, is "You Know They Got A hell of a Band." It is read by Grace Slick, and she tells it perfectly! This is also on the 3-DVD set. That video is o.k. The writen story is very good. But, Grace Slick telling the story on audio is outstanding. Please understand that it is only my opinion that books are to be read not heard.Read full review
Good thrills & chills stories! Don't listen to this when on a deserted road after dark....

I am always captured by Stephen King's books. In this audio book, each story is read by a different celebrity, one of them having been read by King himself. That makes the stories come to life even more, and gives each short story an individual note. I enjoyed the underlying music that was provided at the beginning and end of some of the stories. I have gotten into audio books, because I drive a lot, and audio books make my drives more entertaining.
