I'm playing the end of the BC2 singleplayer now. As Marlowe, you are directed or commanded by the Sarge and the other 2 squad members to do most of the work. The wild mission teaches you all the basics. The game is very realistic. Bad Company 2 often looks and sounds like the amazing game of Crysis, but has more rational squad play, and a better storyline than Crysis, so you never really feel like you are lost alone somewhere. I must try the multiplayer on BC2 soon. On the downside, the flow of blood and fierce intensity of Bad Company 2 is a bit much at times. I still play BF2, and compared to that game, this game makes me dizzy. BF2 has the near perfect maps, bloodless but intense tactical play, and the dash of strategy you develop as a leader, especially in the 64 player online games. For now, and for all the great technical advances of BC2, BF2 is probably still the better game! They just need to add more trees and bushes to some of the BF2 maps to make it perfect.Read full review
This will be the last game I buy from EA as they use Origin to play al their games, The problem with Origin is the download speed for their site is so slow it takes days just to down load a game even if the game already comes with 5 disks like this one does. Now for the game play. It has a lot of hiccups and even after downloading additional updates which takes days more the game is only 11 levels in Campaign mode and after that you must log on line to a game server mostly servers outside of America to play against other players. You can not play this game without an internet connection as the entire game depends on Origins site to use it. I was very disappointed in this game as it costs 39 dollars new at Walmart and only lasts about a day in game play.

Multiplayer aspect of the game is amazing, a lot of incentives to keep on playing unlocking new weapons and perks. The fact that you can drive vehicles like tanks, boats and helicopters is great. You can bring down buildings tear up walls to expose/kill enemies. Graphics are very good, comparable to MW2, effects and physics in the game are definite stand outs. Very fun, this where you get your money's worth. Single player mission is a joke, bad story, horrible voice overs and you can probably finish it in 3 hours.
the game is amazing as well as the online play, however, i have 2 8800 GT ultras SLI'd, and the game frequently white/blue/black screens after about 20 minutes of gameplay. Ive tried it with a 9800 GTX and got the same result. I alway wondered why there were so few people in the multiplayer rooms, and i'm sure the reason why is the GFX failures. EA NEEDS to release a patch very soon or they will lose some permanent business. I will purchase this for my 360 ASAP as their PC support is atrocious.
I bought the Thai version and was worried that I would not be able to play multiplayer on the dedicated servers but it works fine. Somehow the search functions in the server browser don't work as well as they are supposed to so I could not find any official EA servers except Taiwan (EA Taiwan)listed as an official EA server but there were plenty of non EA servers to choose from. I had a hard time finding team deathmatch servers but I suppose they aren't as popular as some game modes like Rush and Conquest so it's understandable. The animation compared to COD4,5 and MW2 seems a lot more clunky and unnatural and doesn't have the same feel. Gameplay is a totally different beast from COD and requires teamwork which I really like though it's frustrating to play on a server with noobs who snipe all day and don't help your team out. Vehicles are pretty straightforward to drive and the tanks and apc's are very useful, the light vehicles like humvees are too weak and get blown up way too easily so they are often ignored and not utilized for offense. Helis are quite difficult to fly and EA did not make a practice mode to fly around in, you could always play in an empty server though. Overall I like this game and the fact that it doesn't use very restrictive DRM is a nice change, I know MW2 will sometimes not work in other countries with their local version of steam so I will stick with EA titles as long as they keep the current DRM's.Read full review
I got Bad Company 2 because some friends at work talked me into it. I've played several other of the battlefield games and this so far is right in line with what I expected. My now 3 year old 8800GTX runs the game in 1600 x 1200 resolution just fine. The game play is great, and the maps are awesome. I was warned that the entry level guns put you at a distinct dissadvantage, but that's fine, just means you have to play more and level up!
When I first heard about this game, I was playing Modern Warefare 2, and was told that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was even better, so I took a shot at it. In my opinion, the game is great, if you are one of those people that love FPS games, and played games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you will LOVE this game. One of the biggest and best features I find about this game, is the fact that near everything building wise is destructible. If someone is stationed between buildings with a heavy machine gun or sniper, and is just a pain to get to in normal games, just take out your grenade launcher and blow through walls to flank him. You can blow wholes in any part of the building, ceiling, floors, walls, etc. Not only that, if a building receives enough damage, the entire building collapses. This of course means if your up against a tank, theres few structures you can hide in, because they can blow right through :). Now, if you ever played Modern Warfare 2, it had a great story, very dramatic and epic overall, including the ending, if you expect one just as amazing in this game, you may be a tad disappointed. Its less dramatic, bit predictable, however there is a lot more humor between the characters. As with a lot of games, Multi-player is quite a bit different from singleplayer. In Multi-player, the online weapons is a mix between the first and second bad company, in addition to a couple WW2 weapons. You virtually see none in Bad Company 2's single player. However most of the starting weapons are in single player, but past that, Its a new experience. Anyway, gameplay wise, its lot different than Singleplayer, yet very very intense. I found myself overwhelmed at first, and had a hard time getting kills, however, once you get used to it, you'll pummel players with tanks, helicopters, motors, snipers, RPG's, Boats, and much more. Overall if your looking for a fun, intense FPS with destructible terrains and fun weapons, this is a game for you.Read full review
Less Vehicles more infantry combat. Great selection and modification of weapons (some features such as magnum ammo tuns low power weapons into preferred weapons). The heavy barrel feature tuns the MG88 from a inaccurate and dangerous (to you as you can't hit anything)weapon at long range to a excellent area support weapon for the medic. Tanks, AMAZING... if you are infont of the tank (friendly dismount) when it fires you don't get your ears rung as in BF2 but when you fire if there is any glass windows around you they are gone. Very Cool. Tanks move faster than in BF2 as real tanks (modern) have no issues running at 80 KM/h (40 Mph). The smoke/dust plumb from the main gun can be annoying for follow up shots but that is very realistic. Now onto hardware: USE A QUADCORE (4 cores) clock speed doesn't matter just throughput. If are using a Dual Core make sure it has tons of muscle and use a 20 or less inch screen to keep the res down. 8800GS/9600GSO, 8800GT, 9800GT, HD4770, HD4850 These cards run this game wonderfully as long as you keep the HBOA off. My HD4890 at 1920x1080 has no issues (50+ FPS) (with a Phenom II X4 955 CPU) all settings max, all features on. If you like Battlefield 2 you will LOVE Battlefield Bad Company 2 for PC.Read full review
So I got this when hacking became rampant on mw2 and I just got tired of small maps, small player counts etc... so this will be a comparison between mw2 and bfbc2 Single player modern warfare 2 defiantly comes out better overall, however the BC2 is very close and has the same level of polish, but with a different feel multiplayer BC2 comes out as the dominant winner, easy match making, dedicated servers, no hackers to date :) fast addicting gameplay. it also has vehicles, up to 32 people in a game, and large levels suitable for sniping and sneaking, less arcade like when compared to mw2 if your wondering if its worth it it is
