I needed a remote so had to buy a complete unit. It does the job but a newer version would obviously be a much better choice.
I would not rate it a 5 star product - more like a 3 star. Two issues: 1. The remote is difficult to use (buttons are terrible) and overall the sequence of actions is not user friendly. Takes a long time to figure it out. Would have been much better if it used a universal remote (I realize they didn't have smartphones back when this product was new). 2. Sound is weak and tinny sounding and I've found no way to increase the volume. Not a killer but it could be lots better. 3. The unit is VERY picky about what type of input it can read. I have been able to use a USB V2.0 only. No joy with the other inputs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
