The GTX 260 is a very capable video card, able to drive most modern games at 1080p resolution without having to sacrifice detail. Made even stronger running in SLI mode and slightly overclocked, they can come close to matching the higher-end cards out there today at a fraction of the price. The one caveat to this is that these cards will not do DirectX 11. Personally, this is a non-issue to me, as any PC gamer will know it takes a few generations of videocards for new DirectX functionality to be delivered by both software and hardware while still getting a reasonable framerate for your games. DirectX 11 remains in its infancy, in the end....if you only have DirectX10, you aren't yet missing much. I purchased this card to combine with my existing GTX 260 which was also factory overclocked, and the pair running in SLI can run nearly every game I throw at them at 1080p in the 60fps range with all features turned on to reasonable levels. I, for one, don't need 8xAA so I tend to stick with 2x (performance) or 4x (visuals) on my 1080p monitor. The price I paid was significantly lower than any modern DirectX 11 card and so it made sense to go the SLI route, as I was already 1/2 way there. This low-cost investment should carry me through another year, possibly 2, and for the money it was worth it. I'm very, very pleased with my purchase. The 260 (which can be overclocked to near GTX 280 standards) alone is still quite capable, and in SLI remains a powerful alternative to higher cost cards, especially if you are on a budget.Read full review
Plays everything I throw at it. Still a strong performer after being out a few years. It does require 2 6pin power connectors, so make sure you have two. Also make sure your power supply can handle it. Look it up on google for minimum power requirements, otherwise you may have instability in your OS. Make sure to download the PrecisionX software from EVGA. It will allow you to monitor and tweak the card. I love this.
Excellent card, too much power by low price. Excellent graphics and the core 216 give this most extra power that you need when you run some game that need good video.
