Works, but has NO base map so kinda useless.
The unit came with no base map so its really hard to tell where you are. The date that the unit lock onto from satellite is wrong, and their is no way to change it, which isn't a huge deal. But it is disappointing. So at this point, it is a rather expensive compass. I wish it came with a cable so that you could possibly add a map? Not worth it. Spend more and get better visuals and easier use.
Very difficult to learn to use. Also difficult to read small font readouts ... even when backlit. Backlight works for only a few seconds. I know it's a battery saving process. But it's very irritating when trying to learn to use the system. Finally gave up. Mine is now consigned to the top shelf of the closet. This wraa etrex has no programming data that's available on line ans incapable of down loading any current Garman data. This is from Garman technical division. I am considering my options. Don't was t your money on any model that won't show highways and streets if you need that data.
