I bought this used to replace my 3800+. This version is 65nM one at 2.9GHz which rated at 65W. For man motherboard, this is the upper limit, hence the best I can get. Beyond this will be problem for my motherboard, power supply and case. Very easy to install that makes you longing for the old 90s that making a PC is an "art". Performance is noticeable faster than 3800+ at 2GHz. The tricky part is with 3800+ my HD video playing uses close to 90% CPU, but only 50% or 30% with 5600+. Seem there are limitations and minimum requirement now HD is the trend. Sorry that I have to replace my 3800+ even though it still has life on it. I put in 5600+ with OCZ memory, work like a charm.
For a regular mail I thought it would take 5 to 7 days but it came in only two day. The CPU was well packaged and it did work flawless, the price was very reasonable. I figured I would take the time and write this to let others know about my experience with the transaction: Excellent!

I bought this pacific processor, as a upgrade for my computer. But my motherboard has many limitations, after research, this best processor that could be installed. I do like that processor is a dual core, that was a 2.9 ghz, and meet my computers requirements! It was plug & play, easy to install, I had do nothing at all! The computer recognized it, loaded drivers, was ready after boot-up. And has worked perfect since, like a new computer, no stall & no hesitation!
This was the best option for my Compaq Sr5605 desktop. Great value for the money. Since this specific model utilizes 65 nm architecture (Brisbane), it was compatible with my Compaq Ivy 8 mobo (M2N68-LA)even though it wasn't listed as a supported processor in the latest Bios (version 5.14). This makes it the best processor upgrade for that unit (Narra), or any unit which supports up to AM2+ sockets and up to 1.35 v. Had I bought a 5400+, which was the last supported processor in the Bios, I would have paid almost as much, but would have gotten much less in value. I haven't been able to overclock this chip because of Bios limitations, but under heavy loads it performs well, even on my paltry 250w power supply. Until I can get a new unit, or psu/Am3+ mobo/windows/quad-core cpu, this is the best upgrade available.Read full review
With this CPU my PC performs much better after Athlon 64 3200+. OS boots very fast. Full screen videos at youtube plays smooth. I think OS responds faster than on Pentium E6500K or Xeon E5440. On very bad M/B my sample works well on 3118 MHz. With clean stock coole @ max rpm on Arctic MX-2 compound it has 35/38 C (CPU/cores) and 50/55 C at full screen video (20 C ambient, Q'nQ active). Thanks for reading.
