Replaced old single core slower clock speed Intel Processor in my Refurbed Thinkpad T430. It was easy to replace with this Intel Quad Core i7 -3630QM SR0UX 2.4GHz w/ 3.4GHz Turbo Laptop CPU Processor. After the replacement, the laptop went from a laggy hard to use device to a quick response and easy to use laptop which can now easily handle Photoshop which was a killer and slow before.

Couldn't be happier with this processor. I have an ADVHC camcorder that records at 17Mbs at it's highest setting. On my old computer, I couldn't even watch the footage, much less edit it with any reliability. The new processor, matched with some triple-channel RAM, has made my editing as easy as it was with the old computer and standard def video: Smooth playback and editing is a breeze. I've found that the new processor crunches data at about 3 times the speed as my old dual core processor. That is to say, I've noticed that jobs take 1/3 the time as they used to. Nice.
Great buy worth every penny! Very reliable (with sufficient cooling) fast and great at multitasking. I bought this processor because I needed the best processing power I could afford to use in order to run Adobe's creative suite programs, Cubase, and world of warcraft (for fun) simultaneously. So far, it's done great with no lag (wasn't able to do that before with my previous build). It's stable but you will definitely need to add sufficient cooling. I used masscool's cpu water cooler for about $80 - and jimmy-rigged another 120mm fan suspended from the case (inside) to blow directly on it. The case itself already has 3 80mm fans and one other 120mm in the front. Keeps the running cpu temp at about 37-42c which is really good in a warm room. If you're looking for a great processor on the budget - this is the one for you.Read full review
I wanted to play some high end PC games at their extremes so it was time to upgrade my PC. After I mentioned this to my wife, she said she wanted my existing PC so I shifted into a new build. I settled in on an Intel i7 920 processor because of the great results reviewers had in over clocking this chip. Off to eBay to see if I could find a deal and there I discovered Fabio. He was selling tested 920s that stayed cool and excelled when over clocked. He also included personal service to help with Bios setting and component selection. I have been buying and building PCs since IBM announced their first, to long to remember, but it has to be over 20 systems used personally and for my family [everyone needs their own pc right :-]. We love to stay bleeding edge and are constantly upgrading. The 920 Fabio sold me reached 4.4 Ghz while staying "cool". A remarkable chip that performed exactly as advertised. Bios settings took 12 minutes over the phone. Fabio is a breath of fresh air. He answered every question I put to him without hesitation. You know what I'm talking about, how many techs have you talked to? You know when you get one who loves his job, is smart and is easy to talk to and is a man of honor who does what he commits to without delay. Do not hesitate doing business with Fabio. He is worth a premium in my opinion. He will take care of you. I think I can honestly say that Fabio is one of the top suppliers I have ever experienced.Read full review
I love the fact that this processor overclocks so well. I am running it using an affordable Scythe Mugen2 (~$40) and have it overclocked to 4.2ghz on air, all day long. Compared to the stock 2.66ghz this is a nice jump. =] I'm using an Asus P6T. Not the SE, nor the Deluxe, just the regular one. The motherboard supports socket 1366 which will be the future Intel 6 core Gulftown CPU's. If I ever get tired of this CPU then I can easily upgrade to 6 physical cores, 12 threads with HT enabled. If you can afford a 920 it is your best solution for future proofing your rig. Also runs VERY nice when overclocked!
