The processor was a drop-in replacement for the T4400 in my old Inspiron. While not optimal because of firmware limitations, it has boosted memory access speed. On the inspiron this is a ten-minute swap. Remove the base plate, remove the heat sink, unlock the processor and remove it, clean off the old gunk from the heatsink and the processor if secondhand, clean off the blue rubber gunk from the GP chip and replace it with a 15mm square new piece, drop in the new processor and lock it into the socket, apply a rice-grain sized blob of heat transfer goop to the processor heat pad and replace the heatsink, replace the base plate and job done. Videos abound on the process, but you'll need a cleaning kit, heat transfer goop and the blue heat transfer electrically insulating rubber pad before you start, which the videos often do not mention.Read full review

"A really much better responsive chip, I was so impressed with the overall performance that I bought another, and that is a total of 3 I have bought." "I had Intel, T-8100 chips in these PC's and it improved my Dell 1727 Notebooks tremendously and, the third will go into an HP Entertainment D-V7 that I have had brand new since 2008 and, it came with Intel Celerons all of them because in 2008 and 2009 was when these particular Notebooks were made." "I say if you want to improve the performance and don't want to buy a 2000,00 to 3,000.00 dollar PC, this is the route to go with the combination of increasing the memory, and switching to SSD's, and the chips you cannot go wrong"..

So I bought this for an upgrade over my old one in my dell 1545. It definitely worth it. Works as it should, very easy to install and is among the top options for old laptops. I had the T4400 (2.2GHz,800MHz,1MB) and with this one I have double the score in cpuz benchmark, both in single and multi core.

This CPU arrived well-packaged in a clamshell case. The item itself was very clean without any leftover heatsink compound. I used this to upgrade a Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook computer and it greatly improved the performance. I can highly recommend this inexpensive CPU to anyone with a similar Dell system.

I replaced a Pentium 900 with this CPU and the difference of course is huge. Now I can use the laptop for basic use, surfing the internet and watching movies and not throw it away as I was planning.

upgraded a dell inspiron 1545 from Celeron processor to this dual core Pentium. Had a very noticeable boost in performance without any issues. Dells baseline scores went up from 4.4 to 6.2 in computations per. And RAM scores actually went up also from 5.1 to 5.9. Well worth the money. You will not be disappointed.

Works like it should, Dramatically increased system speeds. A real pain to install in an HP laptop, but that's HP.
