  • AMD RULES!!!

Bought this for my HP Pavilion a1210n retro gamer and WHOA MAMA what a difference i added this along with 4gigs of Ram and its a WHOLE new comp bought i removed it and re-installed the factory single core Athlon 64 because the factory MB didn't quite agree with this little beaut, so I'm gonna buy a Asus SLI socket 939 MB and install this and my 2 EVGA GTX950's and my EVGA 750 watt PSU and game like crazy to my oldie but goodie games!

  • used cpu

part was easy to install as long as you do it right this is a great way to upgrade your single core processor to get a little more life from an aging rig

  • CPU 939 socket AMD ATHLON 64 x 2 ADA3800DAA5BV for motherboard C51GU01 Gateway GT5056 bent pins on old CPU because of heatsink.

Installed in gateway GT5056 this was a direct replacement and now my system works fine. No increase in speed but the computer now works all I can say is when removing the heatsink make sure you hold it down and a half to be removed because the CPU has to be unlocked to be able to take it out

  • DUel Core made the difference

AMD ATHLON 64 x2 3800+ 2.00GHZ ADA3800DAA5BV SOCKET 939 DUAL CORE CPU PROCESSOR is a good little work horse. In older motherboards like mine, it gave it new life and help speed up the time it takes to make things happen. Even though its only 2.0ghz, and its a duel core, its still faster than my old 2.2ghz single core cpu. If you have an older Biostar nVidia Chipset motherboard, then this will do the trick. Remember to take the battery out, and remove the CMOS jumper before you install it. Then restart and reset your BIOS settings and the processor should be ready to use. Also, make sure that your Motherboard can use a Duel Core CPU. All in All, a worthwhile purchase for someone like me who refuses to give up their older PC. I would say buy this CPU or even a AMD 4000+ Duel Core. Not very expensive and a great way to breath life into that aging PC of yours!

  • Supposedly a Good CPU... but...

Supposedly a Good CPU... I would not know as the one I Purchased actually Fried my Motherboard!! Got a quick refund, but now I have to Buy Another Motherboard, as well as a CPU, and possibly Memory sticks as well. Be Careful when buying a "Used CPU"... Everyone seems to say things like "Pulled from a Working PC". (well if it was "working" then why did you pull it?) Plus... One never knows what happened to it After it was pulled from that "Working PC". Like... Was it Never Touched by Human Hands? Only handled by hands wearing Rubber Gloves? Static Electricity can Kill a CPU, and a Bad CPU can Kill your Motherboard. Be Very Careful, or you will get Screwed like I did... As now, I have to shell out over $100.00, to get a working PC, instead of $20.00 for a CPU upgrade.

  • Good old X2's

I'm really enjoying making old PC's very useable. These old sockets won't support Windows 8.1/10, but I'm OK with that. Windows 7 is going to be "ol' reliable" from now on. Best part is you can push these processors pretty hard up to 2.5 GHz without too much complaining. My windows experience is up to 4.9 with this processor @ 2.2 GHz and a good SSD/GPU.
