If you are looking to upgrade you older AMD single core processor, then this is it. Nothing to do but replace your old one and it will be automatically recognized without any updates. I went from a 3700+ to this 4000+ and didn't think that there would be much of a difference in speed but, I was wrong. It is very apparent. A great purchase for a pretty minimal price.
it is great an reliable processor. it can be overclocked a bit even with stock cooler. its a great thimg if you have 939 socket. although athlon x2 is a way better solution, if you can't get one, this is the way to go. good old stuff

I bought this processor to replace the another 4000+ I had. This a good cpu for playing older games its fast and runs cool. These are getting harder to find.
