Speed up sluggish networks with the Cisco Catalyst WSC295024 series switch. This is an efficient switch-managed router that is part of the larger Cisco Catalyst 2950 series of stand-alone switches. A secure wire-speed desktop switch, the WSC295024 comes with elegant Cisco Device Manager Software. It's very easy to set up, configure, and monitor using a standard web browser. You won't need special fixed-configuration applications, and you can adjust it to your specifications without a command line if you choose. The WS-C2950-24 series units are completely platform-independent. You can manage a series of switches from any desktop, laptop, or mobile device. WS-C2950SX-24 series configuration programs work equally well with Windows, MacOS, Linux, and even FreeBSD management environments. Ensuring the network is private and completely secure is easy to do, thanks to enhanced algorithms that deliver rate limiting and security filtering to the very edge of the network. Users can choose to organize one switch at a time or configure and troubleshoot multiple switches simultaneously with Cisco Network Assistant. This package acts as a free standalone network management package that speeds up standard system administration tasks. Since it sports ample hardware, the Cisco 2950 switch bank is an excellent choice for small and medium business enterprises looking to upgrade existing Cisco equipment. It's also a great choice for those who've never used 10Base-T full-duplex networking before. Since this switch bus doesn't need any additional accessories, you can use it with your existing Gigabit series LAN connections. When conditions are favorable, these switches will run at full power to offer you the fastest wireless connection available. Cisco Catalyst equipment won't automatically throttle speeds, so you can transfer large amounts of data over all ports. Cisco updated this firmware to work with the requirements of IEEE networking protocols too. If you're using the new RPS series of commands, you'll be able to open and shut ports easily. Other series of commands found in modern routers like IGMP will work with this component as well. You won't have to actively think about opening and shutting ports, thanks to the product design. This series of switch banks handles most configuration tasks automatically. Once the bank is fully on, you can simply plug in an Ethernet cable and be connected to the internet. This Cisco Catalyst bank has a copy of Cisco IOS stored in flash memory, so you won't need to worry about installing it yourself, and it will automatically upgrade upon connection to the internet. Even if you had to copy a version over to onboard memory chips, the Cisco Catalyst hardware could tell which version of the firmware to load. This functionality serves as a guard against future compatibility problems. Engineers also worked to reduce the weight of the system and the power supply. This makes it convenient to store on standard shelving or to relocate. The product's dimensions are 18 inches in width by 2 inches in height by 10 inches in depth, and it weighs 7 pounds. Out-of-date name brand product at a great price!
New to the IT world and was looking for some decently priced Cisco products to practice and study with. I ended up getting two 2950T switches in the order, meaning it had some gigabit capability which was a great surprise. Was very pleased with the products, they all came working beautifully, and it's great working hands-on instead of virtually. They even took the RJ-45 to USB console cable I bought for them which I was incredibly happy about. They've been running non-stop since I got them, and I've put them to use in a personal home lab. For the price they make a great learning tool and hobby item, but the product is several years passed its end-of-life date.

Re-pourposed Cisco 2950
Well I bought one to use the DTD feature and lots of ports. Its installed on my Mesh radio site. I have 3 nodes on different channels and they all connect via the Cisco 2950.
