This will fit the 1999 Cherokee just like the description states, but once installed, the new pins and bushings are looser than the worn ones that were taken out. There is approx. 8 mil tolerance in the pin and bushings. IT would help if the bushings could be made solid to fit into the frame portion of the hinge, and make the pin clearance tighter. I ended up buying bushings that were near the diameter of the frame hinge, drilling out the frame hinge to approx. 1 mill under size, and pressing in the solid bushings. Then I found some dorman pins that were a tighter tolerance than the bushings that were just installed, drilling out the door portion of the hinge to fit the new pins and installed. Used a 1/2" copper pipe in place of the plastis supplied with the Dorman kit. Filled it with grease. Door is now very smooth and tight. BUT DO NOT buy these hinges to fix a Cherokee, you will be unhappy with the results. Hinge pin bushing sets used were Dorman 38410 and 38391, Yes, you will need 2 of each kit and will only use the bushings from one kit and the pin for the other set. Does require some level of mechanical skills. Good luck.Read full review
