Great shredder!
I bought this shredder because I work at home and had about a 15-20k sheet backlog of sensitive documents to shred. They had been piling up, and my little home shredder could only shred 3 sheets at a time. This shredder plowed through my pile in just a few hours. I filled about 40 50-gallon bags in a weekend! The features are great: sheet load sensing makes sure you don't load too much; backs out if you do, doesn't jam; finger sensing to shut off if little finger get near the input slot; overheat sensor shuts down until cooled off avoiding damage due to heat; bin full indicator. Very robust! I purchased a factory reconditioned unit, and other than a few scuffs on the bin, it looks and acts brand new. Heavy duty for up to 18 sheets. Easy to empty. Fairly long run time before rest period.
Bought to shred many years of financial backup and accummulated files. Works well after many loads of 42 gallon bags being filled. Not real noisyt. Have a smaller Fellows which we have used for over 10 years and is still doing well. Be sure to lubricate often to keep cutters oiled. You can use regular vegetable oil you cook with. Awesome shredder
I only had to pay $107, shipping included for a somewhat brand new shredder. This thing is heavy duty! I shredded about 60 gallons of mostly light to medium cardboard in a couple days. This was the first time I've ever used a high end quality shredder. I didn't even bother reading the instructions. wonderful machine
using this shredder in conjunction with a fujitsu scansnap ix500 i recently picked up, also a gem, my workspace has largely been de-cluttered and i feel significantly more at peace with my working life. no trouble with jams and i ran a lot of cardboard through it (though thicker cardboard needed to be torn a little to fit it into the grinder for the initial "catch," once "caught" it pulled the thick cardboard in and shredded without trouble--takes a little getting used to but once you get the trick it's super-easy.) runs approx. 30 mins. continuously before it needs a 40 min. cooldown, so i wouldn't recommend it as an "all day" machine like in a constant mailroom/trash operation, but great for my home office needs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

So far, it's great!
Altho I've only had this shredder for a short while and have used it to fill up the container only once, so far this highly rated shredder has done all the things I could ask for in a shredder. I also was surprised when a couple times, the paper got stuck, the shredder automatically stopped shredding, backed it out [reversed it automatically] and then re-started shredding - all on its own! My main concern or wonder with any product like this is longevity - how long will it last and will it be worth it? So, we'll see! I do highly recommend buying and using shredder oil for any shredder you use. I recently got and used some and it made another shredder I have work like new! A [relatively] quiet beast of a shredder.
Shredded a year's worth of confidential papers in about 2 hours w/o even a hint of overheating or needing to rest. It tells you in advance if the pile of paper you're inserting is too think by means of a series of LEDs ranging from green through yellow, and red for too much. There are also LEDs to show what else is going on with it- from paper shreds building up under the cutting head [which TBH is often a problem because the cutting head is offset from the center of the unit [and thereby from over the output bin], the bin not being seated completely into the machine, overheating, fingers in shredding slot, and others I can't recall offhand. It has a master power button, which completely turns off power to the unit, and a software controlled on-off switch which is coupled with forward and reverse buttons- which by the way, the shredder can do all by itself if it feels the need. Also it made 1/2 or less the noise our little 3-4 page shredder did.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
