i have been a huge beatles fan my whole life, but only recently got the chance to watch this movie. it is a joy to watch! it's an effervescent romp that will leave you singing and smiling! from the opening chord to the end credits, it's a motion picture gem! it follows the beatles on a madcap journey through london, press conferences, and rehearsals, culminating in an ed sullivan style concert extravaganza! the picture quality of this blu-ray is excellent! the documentaries were illuminating! as a beatle fanatic, i couldn't ask for anything more! there is even an mini poster insert showcasing many of the silly "hard days night" shots of the individual beatles much like they appeared on the original movie poster and like they do in the end credits! if you love the music of the beatles and want to have a good time (though, the two i think, go hand in hand!) buy this collectors edition of "a hard days night" on blu-ray disc! (if ya have a blu-ray player, that is! ;})Read full review
five star movie that actually created a genre but a 3 star blu ray. they just didn't clean the picture up for this release. It's what they should have done and it can be done. This means that it's the same print used for the dvd set but you get better clarity. If you get it for a fair price then I would say it's worth it. But in no way is it worthmore than 15.00 or so. It's not remastered. That being said 'a hard days night' is a classic movie that broke new ground in cinema. The beatles are at their best before drugs set in and made their personalities get lost in paranoia. their music was always great though and they all got off hard drugs by the seventies which is better than most groups back then too. So I was glad to get this but like other canadian only releases not alot of effort was made at remastering and cleaning which is a shame. You do get to see the great beatles play alot of cool songs and such here though so it's worth owning till they remaster it and it's better than the dvd version too, but not at some awful 40.00 price though. shop for a reasonable price on this one.Read full review
Still one of the finest rock movies ever made. Richard Lester follows the Fab Four around during a normal day in the life of the Beatles. Pauls' grandfather is not only 'clean' but excellent in the supporting cast. This movie stands at the pinnacle of Beatlemania 1964. Ringos' theme and sequence in the movie gives Ringo the best moments in the film. The George Martin score faithfully reproduces "This Boy" (still my favourite Beatles song). Highly recommend. This movie stands the test of time. beatledude
