Musically, this is an excellent album. It's up to par with Mutemath's usual musical high quality and creativity and for that I praise them highly. Lyrically however.... I am disappointed. The lyrics seem to blend into the common romance/relationship/lust category. They did NOT use to be like that. They used to be not normally explicitly Christian but overall hinted at/pointed to a higher calling but alas they have changed their lyrics to suit pop culture. Nevertheless, this is a worthwhile album despite it's flaws.
Not as good as the self-titled album, but not divergent enough from that record to turn anyone off. The songs are a little more straightforward this time around, which stifles some of the excitement. Still, one of the better albums released last year.
Great CD from Mute Math. I love their unique style of music. If you are looking for a mix of 70's and 80's style pop and rock this is your band.
