In the case of the purchase of this set, the idea of getting four movies so cheaply was the main reason I purchased this set. I liked the various plots of the stories. Thicker than Water is the story of a city lawyer getting notified her father had died & she searches for her father's past. The colt is set in a battle in the Civil War. His horse has a foul & the foul becomes like a "good-luck charm" for the regiment. Ordinary Miracles is a tale in which a judge gets the case of a troubled teen, who has bounced from one foster home to another. The previous foster family turns her care back to the state, just before the courts take a few days break. Having no place else to send her, the judge sends her to juvenile jail, then decides she doesn't deserve that & takes her into her own home. The judge searches for the teen's father, only to find he is living nearby. Both the teen & judge find joy in the miracle of being alive. Fielder's Choice has nothing whatever to do with baseball. I'm not even sure why the title was chosen. An up & coming advertising artist finds his life changed by the death of his sister, the mother of an autistic 8 year old boy, to whom he is given custody. There is one other aunt, who has teen-age sons, who could take the boy & eventually does, for a short time. In the words on the cover of this set "But, as one learns from the other, two hearts open up, and a future of unexpected possibilities await." I tried to watch these movies "back to back to back to back". That was a mistake. There are such different emotions each movie calls to consciousness. Perhaps Thicker than Water" and "The Colt" could be watched together & the other two at some other time. "Thicker than Water" has the feel of a modern Western & the Civil War sort of "fits" with a Western. The other two are set in modern times, in cities & both leading characters are young people who need help & get it from adults, not related to themselves. They are not Hallmark Hall of Fame movies, but produced by Hallmark Entertainment. They are similar to HHofF movies in there is little overt violence, swearing or sex. All have great stories. If you want some good movies - cheap, get this set. An added feature is the four movies are on two DVDs & fit into a double DVD case, which takes up exactly the same shelf-space as one standard DVD case. That is important to me of late, as I am running out of sotrage space for the various videos I have purchased recently.Read full review
I love this cd set! My 'boyfriend' and I sat on a rainy Saturday afternoon and watched all 4 of them and really enjoyed it! It's refreshing to find programs on cable when you can find them...usually not on a regular basis...but when you come across one - it's great! Now, we have 4 good family-oriented movies to watch at the press of a button! I will continue to go to ebay for more family shows on cd! Wonderful viewing!

I really just wanted one movie "THE COLT" but this was a good deal on four movies and by having the Halmark logo on them I knew they were quality movies. Great set if you have any doubts don't pass this one up.
