About this product

Product Information

An octave guitar pedal designed for converting your guitar sounds into fat analog synth tones, the Electro-Harmonix MicroSynth does well to deliver everything it promises. Incorporating a compact 10-slider interface, this Electro-Harmonix guitar effect pedal allows limitless tone-crafting possibilities. The Electro-Harmonix MicroSynth comes with a true bypass circuitry that ensures retention of tonal integrity when the pedal is not in use. The 4-voice mixer selection, adjustable filter resonance, and time attack controls of this Electro-Harmonix guitar effect pedal make a multitude of synth sounds possible - from percussive stabs to backward-sounding bowed effects. Encased in a tough, diecast chassis, this octave guitar pedal is durable.

  • Awesome synth fuzz filter sounds

Not the newest tech but it is great sounding. Lots of sounds to "dial" in. Very flexible and easy to get good sounds out of it. There are even some mods for the technically inclined or you can send it off to really make it a synth beast. Probably really works best on single notes, but I use it for chordal work all the time. Kind of fits the low fi, grunge type sound really well. The older big box ones are the one to get. The wired version is probably the best but most expensive. The bad part is probably the fragility of the sliders. You see a lot for sale with tips broken off. Usually they can still be manipulated but they should have been made more durable. Use it on the desktop and it shouldn't be a problem.

  • Zero sustain

Product out of the box needs major modification in order to apply in any practical live setting. The sustain is awful. The noise gate prevents the pedal from ringing out even the slightest. Needs to be paired with a compressor from what I've read but I didn't even both trying that, I just returned it and moved on instead of sinking more good money after bad.
