We've all seen the haunting infrared images that photographers shoot, mostly with converted or specialized cameras, so dabbling in this type of photography has always been on the back burner. Then I discovered Hoya's Infrared filter.
There is a bit of a learning curve as to shutter speed, setting up for the shot, using a tripod is a must, and post-processing is a must to create and get the full IR effect.
Hoya filters are well known for their quality, and this is a nice alternative to having to invest in an infrared camera. This filter gives the photographer the chance to dabble with IR before going all out with a camera.
The attached image was my first attempt at IR using the filter; and I will put more time into developing my technique and creating (hopefully) some unique IR images.
