This was to replace a smaller diameter ExpoDisc that I have had for several years. ExpoDisc makes custom WB extremely simple. Works Pefectly. Quality Construction Better than the Newer 2.0 Version.
This ExpoDisc is so much better than the newer 2.0 version. That one uses a plastic ring which is bulkier. It looks and feels much cheaper and flimsier than the this one. If you can pick up this Original ExpoDisc at $50 or less grab it. They were close to $200 when they first came out. It takes a little pracice to get perfect results depending on your lighting conditions. Outdoors it works great almost everytime. You just need to use it correctly. Simple yet powerful
Wasn't sure the effect this would have, but it produced highly accurate — if not perfect — white balance. I did not have to touch the temperature dial in post. What a time saver. Even using two different brand cameras, I never had to make a temperature adjustment. Wish I had started using these earlier!
