Quality of foam sealing gasket for non-venting cap in question.
The foam gasket for this gas cap was either mis-formed or suspectible to gasoline fumes. It only lasted a week on my 2010 Ford Ranger before it caused a dashboard code to illuminate regarding a loose or missing gas cap.
