I purchased this monitor as an upgrade to my Alienware AW2518H. While it has a slower refresh rate, 165Hz as opposed to the 240Hz of the Alienware, the 1440p resolution of the PG27VQ, more than makes up for the 1080p of the AW2518H. Not to mention NVidia 3D while playing games or watching movies. The 27 inch beats the 24.5 inch AW2518H. Awesome monitor
