Pricey but worth it - there are great deals out there on Ebay.
I knew I wanted an aftermarket mike for my IC-7100 and this fits the bill. I got lots of recommendations, but due to ICOM's unique microphone circuitry, anything but an ICOM mike will need an adapter cable. Truth be told, this does too: 8-pin to modular plug, but I didn't worry about it. True, this is a pricey mike, but I got a great deal on it (bought directly from Japan) and it took a while to get to me.
