Too bad that the ideals espoused by Benjamin Disraeli no longer exist as anything more than a dream. Especially in America, it seems that politicians who claim they are running to make a difference for the betterment of all, are really only interested in elevating and enriching themselves at the expense of the rest of us. I don't believe this film is the one I vaguely recalled viewing about 55 years ago. However, I enjoyed it very much all the same. There must be yet another version of the life of Mr. Disraeli out there somewhere. I will try again. If you have interest in British history or politics of that era, do not fail to watch this film. It is revealing of the structure, mentality and behavior of British society of that time. The acting was good; especially Sir John Gielgud.
