    Gunsmoke still a winner

    Gunsmoke was and is the best Western series ever produced. The characters have been a part of alot of peoples lives for more years than they were in production. I am one of those people. No other series or group of characters can even compare to Gunsmoke. The stories are sometimes serious and sometimes funny. I am lucky to be able to own them.

    We are definitely fortunate that the studio preserved the original film and went to great lengths to carefully transfer each episode to DVD. This is definitely a great gift for original Gunsmoke fans and also gives newer generations of fans a chance to see why this groundbreaking western managed to flourish for twenty years.

    The box containing the dvd's was not in good shape on one side, but all the dvd's were in perfect condition which is what really counts for me. Was satisfied, and really enjoying watching starting from season 1 - got a kick out of seeing James Arness and Amanda Blake so youngs. Greatest western tv series ever!

    A great DVD box set!

    I bought this because I love watching these shows on TV but got tired of all the commercial interpretations. It's good to have the complete series in one box to watch as my time allows. The shows were remastered well and each season comes in a sturdy plastic case with makes for easy storage. I am well pleased with my purchase.

    Gunsmoke collection and shipping damage

    Dvd video and content high quality. Dvd labeling is very hard to read and inconsistent making it harder to sort and find specific disks. Shipping packaging is a single thing cardboard box and substandard. Package was received with one corner damaged causing some damage to one of the dvd holders. Considered returning but found no damage to the DVDs and I wanted to start watching without delay. Though several holders were cracked and broken but i believe I can stablize them with hot glue to prevent further damage. The set complete and for watching, not just a collection to leave setting on the shelf so I can live with the damage.

    If You Are A Long Time Gunsmoke Fan, This DVD Boxset is a Must Have

    The DVD box set is complete with all the episodes I remember as a child watching. The only problem I see is the packaging that binds the DVDs to each box fall out are only held on by heavy tape like shipping tape. I would have given this a five stars otherwise. This aspect of packaging is the only flaw I can see with the boxset, but the DVDs are quality and were remastered for maximum enjoyment. For the price, I can't complain.

    Commercial free!

    I purchased this complete set of Gun Smoke dvds to by pass all those commercial interpretations. It got hard to watch the program with a commercial ever ten min. So now I am commercial free. I have always wanted to see the show when I have the time. If your interested get it you will be glad you did.
