The i7 930 is a great processor if you can find a motherboard for it. They are VERY inexpensive because socket 1366 motherboards are so hard to find. I found a s1366 Shuttle PC and used an i7 930 CPU in it. It runs pretty cool even in a cramped area at stock clocks. I am sure it would overclock well in the right board with airflow and a good heat sink, but that is not the case here. I have it at stock with 8 GB DDR3 and a solid state drive, and it flies.
excellent

Works perfectly with any games that I throw at. Stable at 3.5ghz OC easily. GTA IV,Battlefield 2, Crysis 1 and 2, all maxed. It needs to go with a mid ranged to high ranged graphic card in order to release its power against CPU GPU harsh programs.. 930 Is the best bang for the buck and one of the easiest cpu I handled in my life.
It works great just like it's suppose to.

These CPUs still perform quite well. There's no reason to go out, and buy a brand new system. This puppy will handle your gaming needs, and have room leftover for brunch.
