For a quick food processor that is easy to control where the veggies and food items go then you are in luck. No wild mess tracking down the veggies like a popcorn maker gone mad. Grated carrots fell easily in a baggie to freeze later. However, If you need uniform cuts then stick with the mandolin slicer by hand. Quick processing or thinner cuts needed for your dish then this machine works well. Also would be a nice companion to a food dehydrator as the cuts are thin enough to dry completely and in an even manner.
Additionally pleased with the quality of the acrylic shoot. The blades and other parts are easy to interchange once tried a few times. There is a tool included to help change out the parts.
The ice cream machine is at the proper angle and less waist of fruit over another model I own at home. However make sure you thaw the fruit first or you get more like snow flake consistency in a dish. After trial and error did see that in the directions. The other ice cream machine I have is designed with teeth on the rotary smoother ice cream. This rotary on this machine is easier to clean without the teeth. Nice thing the directions and recipes actually apply to the machine and are great suggestions to read first before operating it.
The only thing left out would be a cleaning brush. Do realize veggies like carrots will stain so clean right away from the green slicing cone. Onions were okay, just need to push the shoot up and down a few times and smaller pieces in otherwise the shoot gets stuck due to the watery onion skins. Overall I would recommend the unit.
Only gave 4 stars due to the ice cream attachment-wish it created creamier desserts but might be a learning curve too. The sound of the machine is acceptable and the on and off button easily located for ease of the operator.
This is my second one of these. I bought it after I accidentally broke one of the anchor pieces off the clear plastic chute that fits around the auger on the first machine, which I have used and enjoyed for many years. I couldn't find replacement parts so I bought a new machine. Funny thing is that the first one still works perfectly even with that little anchor piece broken off because that's not a moving part. They're durable little machines considering they're mostly plastic.
