Tivo Replacement Hard Drive
This drive worked great for me. That's not to say it will work in every model of Series 3 Tivo. A word of caution, the series 3 and earlier models are now deemed obsolete by Tivo. That maeans even though you have a lifetime agreement they no longer service those models. Much to my chagrin, my Tivo is now of limited use. I get programs from my outside HD antenna and Netflix works but little else. I get no programming updates and recording doesn't work. Bummer! So buy with the knowlege you Tivo may be restored to operational but will be crippled.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

TiVo TCD658000 HDXL with Lifetime Service, older model but works good.
This in an older TiVo (2009) but it does what I needed it for, I wanted to be able to record OTA HDTV, and this unit does the job. I did not want to to be paying TiVo monthly charges so I looked for a unit that had a transferable Lifetime Service. I call TiVo to do the transfer after the seller contacted them to let them know they had sold the unit. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone to TiVo to create a new account and it took about a hour for the OTA programing to take effect. Over all, satisfied with the Unit for what I paid for it, the newer units are nice but you are locked into monthly payments unless you pay BIG Bucks for the currant lifetime service. Of course, when this unit dies; so goes the lifetime service with it... so that was my risk... Good Luck.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

As advertised, this unit allows me to record antenna programs for later viewing. It also has signal strength monitoring that allows me to adjust the antenna to the most desirable position. If you DIY this is for you
I have a lifetime TIVO subscription to this old box so wanted to save it when the power supply got worse and finally wouldn't boot. The tear down was simple and the reinstall likewise. All you need is a couple of small Torx screwdrivers.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
