About this product

Product Information

Maximo: Ghosts to Glory was is a 3D action-adventure game for the Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) and was designed by David Siller, Scott Rogers, and William Anderson. It was developed by Capcom Digital Studios and published by Capcom in 2002. It was originally released in Japan with a 2001 release date, then re-leased months later worldwide. It is a single-player action-adventure game with a hack and slash style of gameplay. This game is based on a 1985 Japanese arcade game called Ghosts ‘n Goblins. This PlayStation game follows the brave knight Maximo who thinks he has found a trusted friend and advisor named Achille, but he quickly finds out this is not true. While he is out exploring the world, his advisor becomes power hungry and seizes the kingdom with newly obtained dark powers. He forces Princess Sophia to become his wife and uses his evil powers to unleash human souls from the underworld. He uses these ghosts to increase his power and develop an evil army. The only ones who would be able to rescue the kingdom while Maximo is gone are the four wise sorceresses. However, Achille captures them and locks them up in four different corners of the kingdom. When Maximo returns to this unexpected scenario, Achille kills him. Once dead, he comes face to face with the Grim Reaper. Grim brings him back to life so they can battle Achille and reclaim the kingdom. The game is split into five main worlds: The Boneyard, The Great Dank, Graveyard of Ships, Realm of Spirit, and Castle Maximo. Each world has four stages that you must battle through with the help of Grim to defeat theevil bosses at the end of each stage to continue on in the game. Each stage also has a portal stage where the player can save, travel to other worlds, and purchase health and food. Despite these portals being an area to revive, you can also be faced with enemies here. After defeating the boss at the end of each stage, a sorceress is rescued, and you can choose for your health to be revived or to receive a kiss from the sorceress. If he chooses a kiss, a special prize is awarded. While battling through each level, players have the ability to fight their enemies with forty special abilities, power-ups, and moves or with shield and sword. If you can make it through all the levels you will reach Achille for a final battle to rescue Sophia, reclaim the kingdom, and get all the glory. Maximo: Ghosts to Glory for PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a well-received action-adventure platform game and was even re-released to the PlayStation Network in 2011 and 2012. This game is full of action and adventure and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
