  • Less than honest about it's abilities

The good: - It has clean sound for a board in it's price range. No noticeable hum. It is a good board for podcast recording with multiple mics/instruments and small events. We use it as a board for a LPFM radio station in the studio and it performs that basic function well. - Mostly durable, though the knobs could be of better construction. - For it's price, you get a decent sound board. - The bluetooth connected easily (however see caviats below if you want to use USB to record too) The bad: It is the extras that are SO bad. 1. It will not connect to a Mac computer to record. I could not get it to push an MP3 to a computer in any way and the mac does not recognize the board in any way. Nor does the soundboard recognize that it is connected to a computer. I do not have a PC to test so I have no idea if it will record directly to a PC. 2. If you are using bluetooth, you cannot use a USB thumb to record or record digitally in any way. 3. It will record to a USB thumb drive BUT only if you already have an MP3 saved on the thumb. Otherwise the board does not recognize the thumb drive at all. I had to put a small blank mp3 on the thumb and can record if it is present. 4. When you plug in the thumb drive it immediately starts auto-playing the MP3s on the thumb and you have to pause it or it keeps playing. Thus the reason I put just a single blank song on the thumb to begin with so it would not blast into a live show that may be already occurring. 5. There is almost zero documentation with this device. 6. The FX that come with the unit are so bad they are unusable. 7. The sliders and knobs move way too easily, even the slightest bump will change the levels. 8. Recording to the thumb only produces a 128K MP3 and does not add any metadata. I had to import it into another program and export it for mac to even recognize that it was an MP3. 9. Once connected to bluetooth, switching between USB thumb and bluetooth was really wonky and you had to keep toggling and hoping it would work. It took a while, but if persistent it would eventually happen. All told it is not a bad SOUND board for the price, I just wish it would have been clear that you could only use the bluetooth as a playback and that if you did so you would not be able to record to a thumb drive if bluetooth was connected. Plus it is a flat out lie that you can push digital sound from the usb port or pull digital sound from a computer into the board using the provided USB port. If you want a decent, cheap analog board, this is not a bad one (but likely overpriced if that is all you need), but if you are wanting some of it's bonus features like USB and Bluetooth, I would keep searching unless you just want a mid-quality quick way to record to a thumb drive without needing another piece of equipment. The recordings are stable and did function with the press of a button once I figured out that I would need a blank MP3 on the thumb to make it recognizable by the board. I would not have bought this device had the advertising had been honest about it's either/or capabilities in the digital/bluetooth realm.
