Crossover to Dyson
Very easy to use and clean. It took me a long time to believe Dyson was better. After using Kirby in the 90s, Rainbow in the 90s, Hoover, Bissel, Dirt Devil, Shark and startup Chinese brands, this Dyson has impressed me. Overall it works well
Overall I like my new Dyson V7. I have a V6 and have used it often. The V7 is quieter but seems to have slightly less suction than the V6. The method of emptying the V7 is more efficient (as far as removing all of the debris in the canister) than the V6, but the mechanism for opening the debris canister is harder to release and is a "nail breaker" for those with long nails. On the regular suction setting, it lasts about 25 minutes before it needs recharging. I wish it had come with the hard surface cleaning head, as the carpet cleaning head is not very efficient on floors (the brush tends to throw things around before the suction can pick them up). Also a "constant on" feature would be useful as pressing the button constantly can get annoying.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It really is better than the others.
So for some reason I used to be against the expensive Dyson products. I even used an older corded vacuum that made me feel that I was correct in my assumption that they were way over priced. But after buying a Hoover corded, where it quickly failed with an irreplaceable battery. Followed that with a cheap corded version, ok but a pain with a cord. And then a cheap knockoff of the Dyson style that has very little suction, and now I broke down and bought a Dyson to try it because the price was right. First off these ARE better than the cheaper knock-offs. A lot more suction with these. And all the parts fit together better and smoother connecting and disconnecting. Coming from an engineering background I immediately noticed how so many little things had been done right. I am impressed. I hope it holds up. This is absolutely the best vacuum of this type, cordless - carpet - hardwood floors - battery powered, that I have ever used. it is so convenient and just works. Period. Great vacuum for small areas.
Amazing vacuum, cordless and easy to use, great suction, easily gets into all areas, small size which is great for storage. My only problem is that battery doesn't last too long, about 20 minutes on high suction, not ideal for large areas. Recharge takes a few hours. Great vacuum
I had been skeptical about cordless vacuums, although I could see that having one might just make it easier to keep up with vacuuming because you didn't have to worry about the cord. And I had been skeptical about Dyson in particular because a lot of the enthusiasm about the brand seemed over the top. But I'm a convert! This vacuum makes it incredibly easy to keep up with cleaning. The bonus is that it's easy to keep the vacuum clean, too! There aren't huge drifts of cat and people hair floating around anymore, and my own super long hair is easy to clear out of the roller, though most of it ends up in the dust collection bin. A light, easy to use performance vacuum
I purchased for use in my shop. I have a larger vacuum, but it is cumbersome for "small vacuum" needs. In addition, I wasn't happy with how it left a dusting on the floor. The Dyson took care of this problem for me. I now use it for all my vacuum needs, except when I have a lot of debris to clean up off of the floor. Even then, however, I go over the floor with the Dyson to get the desired cleanliness. In addition, Its light weight and flexibility make it a great addition to my shop. Just buy it! So easy to use and keeps things clean!
Super quick, So much easier than getting the broom, sweeping and hoping to get it all with the dustpan. It helps keep my floors so much cleaner. I love that I don't have to deal with a vacuum cord either. I actually keep my floors clean every day with this than if I was sweeping or using a traditional vacuum. I also love the attachments, it makes getting to harder to reach places easier. The clip/button to empty is a little hard to press at first, I felt like I was breaking it, but I confirmed with the directions I was emptying appropriately (I was) so I kept pushing and it worked. It also gets easier to empty the more you use it. I can't even tell that I have an older version for the price I paid. My mom has a newer version and this one stands up to it the same. I think the main difference I notice is emptying the canister but I'll take that for the price. I've also used this to vacuum my couch since we have a dog and cat who like to use that as their bed and it works like a charm to get the pet fur. A few weeks in, very happy!
So far, it's awesome. I knew I wanted cordless, if I have to fuss with a cord I just don't ever vacuum. So now that it's cordless, it's easy to grab and spot clean, which so far I've been doing nearly every day. The wall mount is easy, and we live in a tiiiiiny house, so having a wall mounted small vacuum is really nice. It works well enough on the rugs. The max suction option is usually too strong on the rugs, it's a real arm workout to use max suction on high pile carpet. But regular suction seems to work well enough, and the battery lasts longer.
