Use your HDMI camera as a usb webcam!
I use the Magewell USB-HDMI capture device to bring in a Canon XC-15 as a usb camera to a MacBook Pro usb-c (you will need a usb-c to standard usb adapter if your computer only has usb-c). This camera will not work with video conferencing apps like Zoom or Hangouts with standard capture cards. The Magewell was easy plug n play and presented the camera as a standard webcam to the software and the picture and build quality is excellent. No technical skills necessary to install and use.
