it's a little slow to recover magnetic north.. I do like all the extra features like the view finder... it works well... just not spectacular. it has some heft/ weight to it which is nice... unless you wanna use the lanyard. I would imagine it would leave a mark on your chest while hiking and such . comes with a little bag ... which I have no need for and got a molle pouch for it... which should./ would be a better option. over all it's a nice piece of equipment. four stars for the slow recovery to find magnetic north

If you want something that looks impressive, this does it. Heavy metal, well built, drawstring bag, carrying lanyard. Problem is, it's a lousy compass, 30 degrees of variance with repeated test. Tap on it 20 times it will usually get within 10. If you want a compass to use, don't buy this. I have a crackerjack compass that's way more consistent.

The degrees dial moves a little slow, but it is accurate. Not a light compass, but it's worth the price and then some.
