  • Budget friendly coverstitch

This machine is fairly easy to use. Threading it isn't too complicated. Releasing your fabric is a little tricky; I recommend watching a couple YouTube videos and you'll get the hang of it in no time. There is no back stitch so you'll want to learn the various techniques to secure your thread tail. I didn't have the money for a really high end machine, so I had to choose between this Brother or the Janome 900 CPX. The reviews said the Janome skips stitches and the Brother is tricky to sew in the round (i.e. Neck/arm holes). I went with the Brother because I'd rather learn a tricky technique than unstitch an entire garment. The Brother also has 3 needles instead of 2, but the Janome has more sewing space in the neck of the machine. I'm happy with my choice, it's a better machine than I thought I'd get at this price point. I put a lot of mileage on my machines and this one hasn't let me down yet.

  • professional looking hems

For the price this little machine is amazing. It works great, is easy to understand and use. If you don't "get it" from the directions - watch a youtube video. You'll say "oohh, I get it now". I used this machine at my daughter's house and had to have one. With this and a serger you can make almost anything and your project will look great. And it has options and adjustments that don't usually come on a machine at this price level.

  • Good Machine - With a Learning Curve

I love the results from this machine. Once you get the setting dialed in, it really works the way I expected it to. One incredibly frustrating thing was the looper thread was a nightmare UNTIL I read a Reddit comment from more than one source that stated to use Woolly Nylon thread in the looper and regular polyester thread in the two (or three) needles. Worked like magic. I don't think this issue is unique to this machine. It's apparently an issue on most machines.

  • Love this Brother Coverhem 2340CV!

Love this coverherm machine. I briefly owned a different (more high end) brand of coverstitch machine and this machine sews circles around it! My Brother 2340CV easily sews hems on slinky stretch jersey without stabilizers or other aids. Just press with an iron, spay a bit of starch and sew, easy peazy!

  • Easy to thread

This machine will make hemming and sewing knits a breeze. Easy to thread too. This is not a serger so don't be confused. Shipping was fast and product came just as described. Thank you I would order again from this company and recommend this product..

  • Replacement

I had sold my other one when I bought a brand of serger that also did coverstitch. I regretted selling it once I started doing patterns that had coverstitch between serging. This one was a great price, probably because Brother has come out with two new models. Since all I wanted to do was a single coverstitch this was an awesome find. It was new in the box.

  • So wanted one of these.

I have a number of sewing machines, a serger & a felter...I had been wanting a coverstitch machine for quite some time. Not having any experience with this particular device has slowed me down a bit. Took it out of the box, did a little educational reading and within an hour I'd already mastered threading and was even sewing balanced stitches rather quickly. Thumbs up Brother this one's a keeper!

  • Definitely invest in one of these!

This item arrived quickly and seemed to be new. Not a scratch on it. I love it! It’s So easy to thread and to use. Definitely recommend it. There are lots of reviews on this particular machine that had me a bit worried as to how easy it was to use but it’s really easy. Threading it takes 2-3 minutes and it’s easy.

  • Looking basic but does the job!

This cover stitch machine has some plastic parts making it feels break easily but sturdy enough for the job. The fabric removal from the machine is frustrated at first but easier once get the hang of it. This machine can create nice and professional cover stitches. It is perfect for sewing beginners and home use. It will handle heavy fabric as long as the right needles are used and it runs at the low speed. It is considered good inexpensive machine.

  • Great little machine for the price

Very easy to set up, creates beautiful cover stitches. As a bonus it uses regular machine needles.
