9142 is a great machine with an outlet to a second TV.
This machine was replaced by the 9241 which did not have as many features but a bigger Hard Drive.The 9242 had an outlet on the back that a connection could be made to a second Television and that TV could act independently and access the PVR and Hard Drive.

Refurbished Bell 9241 PVR
Vincent at Fusion Informatique told me that my pvr could not be fixed as the processor was shot and offered to sell me a refurbished unit. Just received the unit. Everything appears to work and even though it is used, it looks brand new..

Flakey hard drives.
These are great receivers when they work. Between the 9241 and 9242 I'm going to have to use my Dishcare insurance from Bell as the hard drive failed just after the 30 day return policy ran out. I've noticed they don't like to play back during dual recording or in some cases after simultaneous recordings as the video and audio break up so bad that your program or game is lost. These are not the best receivers but I found after Bell replaced mine they must have used better hard drives (wish they were SATA). Best owned with the $7 a month Dishcare insurance.

Bell 9242 repair service was gREAT
bought the service, was waiting for the Return shipping label to mail it, but mis understoood that I had to pay to get it there, the return portion was incluided in the cost which was fine. Boxed up my overheating reciever, mailed it out for about $22 to the adress and recieved it back via canada post in less that a week..Works great.
