Today it’s hard to find a good quality mount. This unit will hold your transmission stable close to a solid mount with just the right amount of give. I had a top brand name factory replacement that would allow the transmission mount insert to move 2 inches side to side. This one’s designed to take up all the slack and prevent this from happening as well. I dig this product!
For ease of installation buy the complete mount that includes a new shell/bracket. This kit consists of two insulator halves and a support sleeve, and you reuse the original shell/bracket. The degree of difficulty will vary, depending on how badly the original mount has deteriorated. I found it worked pretty well to heat up the tubular shell with a small butane torch around it's circumference until two popping sounds were heard when the rubber cushion became unbonded from the shell. After that, clamping the bracket to a sturdy table and twisting the insulator out of the shell with a pair of Vice Grips did the trick. A vice is very helpful for pressing the new insulator halves in to the shell and over the reinforcing tube. After that it only took a few light taps to fit the mount in to the cross-member. I would suggest leaving the through bolt and nut no more than finger tight until the mount assembly is installed to the transmission and subframe. Tighten the mount to tailshaft pad bolts first, followed by the four cross-member to sub-frame thru-bolts, saving the single mount thru-bolt to tighten last.
