These metal coolant elbows for the 2000 buick are an excellent choice for replacement of the original elbows which came from manufacturer. While the plastic ones held up for a long period of time it just makes good sense to not replace plastic with plastic when a metal alternative is available. The 200 + degree heat from the engine will eventually "cook" the new plastic just as it did the old. Metal elbows are a bit more expensive but I think well worth the difference.

On the 3800 motor by GM the original Heater hose knuckle was made out of a plastic compound and over time it will crack. These replacements are made out of metal, just like thermostat housings. These parts resolve the problem of leaking coolant for the life of the motor at these connections.

Don't waste your time replacing your heater core fitting with the same plastic fittings. Buy aluminum fittings, these will last for ever.

Product as described. Economical option for me. Seems just like OEM part that was replaced.

The O-ring leak in a short amount of time. Still better then the plastic ones , they spit open and leave you settling on the side of the road.
