The Solo Albums: Volume 3 - Deep in my Soul / Big Time
Excellent CD. "Deep in my Soul" would probably be considered Smokey Robinson's disco album, but he does it in such a way you wouldn't think it's disco. Standouts are "It's Been a Long Time", "Let's Do the Dance of Life Together", and "Vitamin U". "Big Time" was a movie soundtrack to a "blaxploitation" film Robinson scored. Once again, this was written in a manner where you wouldn't know it was for a movie. The movie bombed, but the music is great. "Theme from Big Time", "He Is the Light of the World", and a nice instrumental version of "The Agony and the Ecstasy" are standouts. The bonus tracks are also worth a listen, notably "Mother's Son". These CDs are hard to find and expensive, but if you're a fan I recommend it.
