Once our research was complete, the Presto Waffle Maker was the highest rated and we can understand why. Simple to use and compact, it's non-stick plates eliminate the need for oil and will release the waffle perfectly. A bit of steam as the waffle is baking is normal and flipping the maker at approximately two minutes seems to work best. Best ever
This waffle iron does not need to be sprayed. In fact it warns that you not use spray. Prior to this waffle iron, we had an expensive one that ended up breaking because the spray ruined the internal wiring. When it broke, we bought a different one. That one made pale, mushy waffles. If we left them in longer to crisp up, they became dry and overdone. The Flipside is perfect. It gets really hot, so that the waffle cooks quickly, and still crisps. It has a little plastic lock on it that keeps it in an upright position for storage. It is super easy to use and just wipes clean.
