  • Good, affordable sound for the price!

This unit is hooked up to four Samsung home theater satellite speakers on all four corners of my garage. I bought this stereo receiver solely for the purpose of listening to music while i do work in my garage. The Pyle pro pt260a delivered great sound and has impressive aesthetics for its value. One surprising feature about this stereo is that it powers up all four channels simultaneously even though in the back it states an "A" & "B" side. The power on this stereo is nothing short of amazing! On to the bad notes. The volume control on the unit sometimes acts as the channel tuner when listening to the radio, raising or lowering the volume on the supplied control alleviates this issue. I cannot hear a difference in sound when tuning the "M. Bass" & "M. Treble" knobs, but i consider this a small loss when regarding the price of the unit and the other equalizer controls functioning properly. The remote does not have a power button and its slightly tricky to set the radio stations on memory. Overall, i enjoy using this product. It has very little limitations so far and am impressed because i spent so little!

  • Good for the price

Don't expect HiFi audiophile quality from this receiver. However, if you need something for the backyard (as myself) it is fine. The receiver is a bit lacking due to it being very sensitive to adjacent stronger stations knocking the weaker ones out. You can fuss with the antenna to try to find the sweet spot for a weaker station, but chances are that a stronger adjacent one will bleed through. Not much separation. Remote control does not have a power on/off button. Instructions to program memory is very vague. But one can figure it out, it's easy. Bottom line is if you need a receiver and or an amplifier to play your external music, it works fine and you can't beat the price. I am happy with it for what I use it for. If you are a bit picky and can detect slight distortion products, I would do some homework and compare the specs against others.

  • The 260A is a Great audio receiver for the money

The PT260A Stereo Amplifier is a great value for the money. The 260A is easy to use and has more then enough power(100W per side) to drive my two bookshelf speakers I have in my garage.I like you have the ability to add up to three other audio devices with the convenient audio input jacks on the back of this unit. I have a CD player, Serious Radio,MP3 player & the 260 A comes with a built in AM & FM receiver.NOT BAD for such an economical price I got on ebay. The only down fall with the 260A is it is made in China(what isn't these days) and I called their tech department for advice with their Karoke input on the front of the 260A and I couldn't understand their broken English..If you need help with the 260A go to your local Audio store. PS, the remote works great!

  • GREAT PRICE - LOTS OF FEATURES - CONTROLS NOT INTUITIVE

Setting station pre-sets not intuitive. When the unit is turned off, all settings seem to be lost. Default volume is quite high. I will re-read the manual to see what I might be missing.

  • A good though quirky unit.

Has fine sound quality and some unusual and useful features. However the default power-up volume setting is too high, especially for FM radio, it should be 12 maybe for apartment living instead of 20. There is no headphone jack. The Balance, Bass and Treble knobs do not have a flat or normal setting marked or detented. The digital volume knob evidently drives an up-down counter, sometimes it is erratic and turning it clockwise reduces the volume, though the up-down buttons on the remote work fine. The blue indicator lights are too bright. There is what appears to be a spectrum analyzer fluorescent display, however this is just for show and all of the "frequency bands" hop up and down about equally with signal. The signal loss indication appears during quiet passages of music, however this doesn't actually activate anything and is merely irritating when advising to pick a different signal source. There is no magnetic phono input, however this would only be an issue with those few folks who still have a turntable for records. There are two pairs of speaker outputs that are all live except when in "mute" which disconnects them with a relay, from the sound of it. Despite what one review said, there is no choice of which set of outputs is active. There is no tape or CD recording output, or tape monitor input. The audio inputs are marked for CD, Aux or Ipod though they are all line level inputs with RCA phono jacks. Having microphone inputs is a bit odd for a home stereo receiver/amplifier but these seem to be intended for karaoke. I have not tested them. They have their own set of volume, bass, treble and echo knobs. FM dipole antenna and AM loop antenna are included. The stranded wires are very thin and it helps to tin the ends with solder after twisting them together. Overall a good though quirky unit, and an excellent value when heavily discounted on Ebay.

  • A good Stereo for a small space

For those of you looking for a home theater receiver, this is not for you. This receiver in for an apt. or for my use, a garage. It's not an expensive receiver because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. It has plenty of volume, bass, and, tone. Not extensive but enough. It was designed in the US. Engineered in Japan. Made in China. So you get the best of both worlds for $100.

  • Good for the price

Not a bad item for the price, although a plastic antenna is supplied, reception from that is VERY limited. Tried a different antenna, not much better. The manual supplied is vague, but calling their tech support helped clarify my questions. Like everything else, you get what you pay for, so for the price, FOUR Stars is worth it.

  • Pyle of ----

Poorly designed. Hard to hook speaker wires in the back. There is no on-off button on the remote. Lights on the front are very bright with no way of dimming them. The input button on the one I received only worked part time. To the credit of VM Innovations, they have taken it back and sending a replacement. They just sell the product, not make it.
