Good webcam but bad integration with Skype for Windows 10
Windows 10 easily recognizes Microsoft webcam and sets it up but image is too dark in skype even though it is good in Camera app. No adjustments allowed in skype. Online search showed others had similar issues . Solution is to download and install older skype version which allows adjustments to brighness and focus and that works. Good value in a 720P webcam
Image quality is good for this camera and it works well in low light compared to other webcams on the market. The built in microphone also works very well with apps such as Skype and Facetime. The lense is glass and the body is metal so contruction is top notch. Bought to use on a Mac Pro and it just works after you plug it in. Remember you get what you pay for so don't expect professional video cam quality from a $50 webcam. Problems with Skype
This camera is said to be certified for Skype. I used it with the current version of Skype on the current update of Windows 10. The picture is very dark even compared to Windows' Camera app quality. Skype does not have any camera controls, as well as the camera itself. Unlike Logitec, Microsoft did not produce dedicated camera control software. Sometimes Skype does not even recognize the camera while the camera microphone works okay. Camera design is about 10 years old, however, it is still offered by Microsoft in their online store and one might assume that it should be compatible with the current Microsoft systems. But it is not the case. I am disappointed. I would have returned it if I did not get it for half of the regular price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quick review of Compact HD Webcam
The LifeCam uses a nice design that focuses on keeping things compact. It looks cool and is much less clunky than older webcams. The body is made of an aluminum barrel that is both attractive and sturdy. If the aluminum was used to make the cam rugged and portable then Microsoft should have included some sort of cap so that the glass could be protected when traveling, but nothing was included. The flexible stand is rubberized for improved grip and it works well with any display, from a deep 24-inch LCD to a laptop’s lid. The top of the cam is home to a button for taking photos and a digital microphone. Overall, it’s a very nice webcam with a complete feature set and solid hardware. The installation could have been smoother and the included software is just OK, but those are minor issues. The LifeCam Cinema brings users high-quality HD recording, quick and accurate autofocus, and acceptable sound quality. Awesome WebCam
This is a great web cam! Picture quality and sound quality are excellent. I use mine for video conferencing for work and couldn't ask for anything better. Mine was supplied to me by my work, but my son would borrow it when he wanted to Skype with his girlfriend. He couldn't believe how good this web cam was, so I bought this one as one of his birthday presents. Works with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
I have tested the software in both Windows 8.1 & 10, and even though when you begin the install process, you should receive a pop up that says that the software isn't compatible with the O/S and some features may not work. But then, you should receive another pop-up asking you to install .Net Framework 3.5 (includes .NET2.0 and 3.0. Once this is installed, the program works fine. Should you not receive the pop-up to install the Framework, click on start/ control panel/ Programs/Uninstall Programs/ Turn Windows Features On or Off. This camera is easy to install. It has GREAT HIGH DEFINITION and a long cord for some mobility. I have WINDOWS 10 and it said that some of the features aren't available? Great resolution!
This camera has a long cable so you can move it around and get different angles. The image is sharp and it auto focuses. The mic picks up sound clearly from 10 feet away.
