  • Excellent lens

I was looking for something as a walk around lens to use with my Minolta Maxxum 7. This has a wonderful range and appears to be a very well built lens. It is small and light weight and a joy to use. Those reviews that questioned it's sharpness conceded that it is nicely sharp after stopping down to f/5.6 or f/8 which is where I customarily shoot anyway. For the price I paid it is a wonderful value.

  • great little lens

It arrived in great condition, and works perfectly. Note that it's cheap because there's no built-in auto-focus. Focus-assist works just fine on Alpha models, though, and since I didn't have auto-focus at all until the last decade, not a big deal. SO, it you're looking at one of these for sports, or anything else that moves unpredictably, probably not your best bet. It takes a lot of practice to develop skill with manual follow-focusing. Otherwise, terrific deal for the money.

  • Doesn't fit

Doesn't fit my camera, selling wants $30 to return it. Nope! Bad sell.

  • Cheap good lens!

The lens was cheap for it's quality, not like prime lenses, but neither was the price as for prime lens!

  • Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

This was a used lens so I was taking my chances. It appeared to work Ok at first but after a few pictures it would not autofocus or shoot most of the time. I will probably buy only new camera lenses from now on.
