Callaway clubs are fantastic! I have several of their drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids and they are great! I would suggest upgrading the shafts and grips. I upgraded to a Graphalloy shaft and Torsion Control grips on all of mine and it makes a BIG difference. You will like the clubs - regardless of the shaft and grip - and hit them STRAIGHTER for sure, as well as LONGER! There is a very smooooth impact with the ball and it seems to jump right off the clubface. It's like there's a small explosion when the face meets the ball and it shoots down the fairway. Try these clubs and you will really enjoy them. Make SURE you get them from a reputable authorized Callaway dealer. There are lots of COUNTERFEITS on auction sites out there. Make sure you get the genuine Callaway article. You will be VERY pleased.Read full review
Callaway does it again. They've moved more weight lower and farther back in the clubhead to make these clubs easier to hit. I've used a 2004 Big Bertha 3 wood for about 2 years, and I love it. If you've had trouble hitting fairway woods in the past, its time to upgrade. The sole slides through the rough with ease and gets under the ball to get it out of that mess. As long as I don't swing hard, I can hit this club as straight as my Callaway Driver, but without the tee. It's that easy.
Low profile steel fairway woods, with a revised Warbird sole, currently priced like knock offs. What's not to like? Right now these clubs are a bargain. Look around eBay, (or even in the pre-owned bins at the shops), and you'll find these waiting for a new owner at ridiculously low prices. I have no idea why these did not retain their value, but it turns out to be a pretty good deal for the guy who is looking for them. They are rock solid performers. Above average distance, terrific from the fairway and light rough. Easy to control, draws and fades are almost automatic. Very solid out of the rough as well; the Warbird sole really helps it glide through the tall stuff. You can even do some greenside chipping with them. Get the right shaft for you and you'll be playing these for years to come. Mine are have the Rifle 6.0 shaft which suits my swing and helps me keep it low, something that is essential in windy Chicago weather. You can't go wrong with this modern version of a classic design. By far the most bang for your buck. These are a staple in my bag.Read full review
This new club has allowed me to give the ball a high ballflight and land on green softly and hold from 180-190 yards out. I've always used stiff flex shafts on my woods but this one came with a regular flex. The only way I can discribe it is it feels like a slingshot and creates beatiful high draw shots into the green. Ball impact sounds very solid and this club also can be used on tight par 4's where keeping it in the fairway is a must! This maybe an old model club but it certainly can stand up with the best and latest technology. I'm sold on this one!
I am a avid golfer who has played Callaway woods over the years but got away from them once I replaced the trusty "Warbirds". I tried a 2004 BB 5 wood recently and just fell in love with it after the first blast down the center of the fairway. I purchased the 5 wood and recently added the 3 wood off ebay to match and have found it just as easy to hit as the 5 wood. The biggest reason I would recommend these woods is plain & simple....PRICE. There is not a better fairway wood on the used market in the $50 - $60 price range. The set up gives you confidence that it will go where you aim and they are so easy to get up off the grass it should be against the rules of golf. If you have not tried these give them a go before you lay out $125 for a newer model or different brand...They are awesome!
