What can be said about this band that hasn't already been said? Most people either love them or completely hate them. This album;originally released in 1976; is considered by many rock fans to be the best studio album they've ever made and rightly so. However, this edition; a 35 year anniversary celebration of the original that burned it way into the ears of rock fans back in the day. This particular edition features black disc as opposed to the typical silver shiny disc, a nice touch. This album sounds just as good as the day it was first experienced & brought the memories flooding back along with the sounds that came from my computer's speaker system. The most eye opening thing about this is the disc features 2 versions of the song "Sweet Pain",the original that we Kiss fans all know featuring Robbin Ford of lead guitar (unaccredited) and the one featuring the rejected solo work by member Ace Frehley. Its clear to see why the band chose Ford's work over Frehley's because Frehley's choice was non-nonsensical and does not fit into the composition's musical components. In a nutshell, this CD and the band that made it has a true gem on its hands & has stood the test of time, sonically however,as I said before;there are people whom don't get Kiss & why they've been so popular. My theory is Kiss has not forgotten (& will not let us forget) the FACT that this rock & roll stuff is supposed to be fun and Kiss still does its best to reflect that.Read full review

It's a good CD, but in my opinion, not as good as original. Something for the collector.
