I have owned Video cameras since they came out in the 1970's. Made commercials and documentry films with them througout my career in advertising. The GOPRO was so small it shocked me. Yet it has features that my expensive 20 LB JVC will not do. I have put it on a fishing pole and videoed fish under a pier to a Time lapse feature that few cameras offer at a price that is affordable to anyone. Pro's I have mentioned it to shake thier head and comment on the HD quality, when National Geographic and ESPN Sports use them for programing then there is no better unless you want to pay thousands for an expensive Name brand.Yes it's small fragile and bit quirky with odd programing but it's the camera I now use first over all others I have at my dissposal.
A friend of mine recommended this camera after he used it to document results of his construction company, during use of explosives on road and large landscaping contracts. I work in a tactical world, from high speed pursuits to underwater recovery. Documenting these incidents and missions are crucial for liability protection, sucessful prosecution and debriefing / training. I have tested this product in a hot temperature desert and night time scuba environment. Although the market appears to have smaller helmet cameras, I recommend this company with it's proven design. A camera needs to be large enough to operate with gloves on in some operations / missions. The Hero camera has many options and accessories which should be considered and convince you to try this product.
The seller sold a nice camera in original package. The camera its good and its not so good. Size of image, ok, HD, but its not so nice, does not have a amazing white balance. The worst thing about her its that in the manual says its sensitive to light and its not. I have gone to caving, and I realized that its not so good. You have to read the manual, because she has only 2 buttons and several options, so its not so easy to use. She is very light, good point, even you have doubt if its not chinese camera. The battery really take a long time to run out, can record even more than the manual says. Almost full out my SD 32GIGAS before the battery ends. But for the price its a good option, you can put in the helmet and not worried so much, she can take some punchs. One good point she came with several acessories, since cables, to several supports to put in the car, bike and especcially helmet.Read full review
Likes Size, rechargeable Li-ion battery, HD quality, SD cards, kind of easy to use. Dislikes "200mph" suction cup lost it's grip and MY new HD camera was lost in snow first time out. Tiny screen has no display and I need glasses to read the tiny numbers and letters on the 1/2" screen to figure out what the camera is doing. NO playback screen
I bought this camera to mount on my beach catamaran for some surf sailing action. The choice of mounts practically covers any situation, I mounted mine on a spinaker pole using the handlebar mount. I was really amazed at the color clarity that this camera reveals. Great video shots even at 60 frames/sec. Not that chopping looking stuff that you see a lot of. The waterproof case worked well, as I nearly pitchpoled my boat twice and the camera got a nice dunking. No problem for the camera though, it caught it all on video and kept on going. Great camera, great price. If there was any cons, I would have to say that the memory capacity limits you to less than 60 minutes of video. That would be the only negative.
