I really enjoy the H1945 pocket PC. It is slim and does all the basics will. It will hold all of your contacts and calender items with not problems. It can handle most of the freeware that you can find. I use it every day to make sure that I am up to date on all my appointments. It is a cheap solution if you don't have a smart phone. I use the bluetooth to sync and transfer files. I have had no problems. If you are a heavy duty user and need a pda with a lot of power then this isn't for you. Move on to something with a better processor. Also one down fall to this is that there is not an integrated wifi card. Wifi was just being introduced when these were made. You can get an SD Wifi card, but it will use up you SD slot. This is a little annoying and you want to download something and you have no room on the system memory. I would recommend getting a case for this to protect it. Overall if you are just starting out or don't need you pda to do extreme things this is a great value.Read full review
The HP Ipaq H1945 is the affordable solution to the sometimes crippled Palm platform read this review to see why this is an affordable fun tool/big boy/girl toy. Pros: Removable Battery, 320X240 LCD in brilliant color, wifi, etc. etc. Cons: Proprietary data/power connector, only includes one wireless option The Ipaq 1945 series is a blatent answer to the newer affordable palm IV with a brilliant color screen and the new windows mobile 5.0 platform this is an obvious contender with its intuitive interface and great internet comaptability, this unit although doesn't support flash web based pages out of the box but this is easily remedied from acromedia's web site and the ability to download files is a great improvement to palms download limits and stunted browsers. The greatest feature is backwards compatability where gamers who love there classic titles such as Doom or quake and for the tech savvy there are emulator options to play your favorite nintendo games. This is to say the least the biggest bang for your buck as it is incredibly compact but at the same time features many of features of the upper models in this catagory. The only thing I can say is wrong with this model is the inherent choice between bluetooth and wifi if I were nyou I would choose wifi is is cheaper and more usefull in the long run. All in if it is treated properly this is a great choice for a multimedia pocket pc at an affordable price.Read full review
So this listing was actually for the Ipaq Rx1950. I bought the device because it seemed like a very good price for a brand new item and I always wanted one. Right off the bat I was alittle disappointed with the memory on it. It only comes with about 30mb of free space so getting an SD card for it was a Must. I like the Style and size of it. It's small enough to fit in you pocket without any issues (although you should put it in you pocket.) The Great thing about this device that most people don't know, is the fact that they're pretty popular in Europe. This is great because the Europeans always make the best out of their devices. As such, you can turn this device into a Car GPS device with a few small purchases. (the mount, the GPS mouse, the software...) All in all I'm very pleased with it. Only thing that kinda sucks about it; NO Bluetooth! What the heck were they thinking? It's got 802.11b WiFi and Infared port but NO bluetooth!Read full review
I have had my IPAQ 1945 for several months now and find it to be very nice. The software works well. I have had to reset it a few times, but that is not unusual. It is slim and attractive. I have no problem carrying it and hardly notice it at all. I use it to play music, keep notes, appointments, and I have E-Sword on it so I can read the Bible. It has bluetooth, IR, and can run wireless with the appropriate SD wireless card. The battry life is all of the 8 hours advertised. If there were a negitive it would be that (I) think it should come with a cradle. It does come with a sync/charge cable, but a cradle would have been nice. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a really slim, lightwieght, attractive, functional, PDA/pocket pc/mp3 player. Have a great day, and God Bless You. Michael L. WiersonRead full review
I decided to buy this item so that I could carry the PDA version of the Watchtower Library with me in order to help answer people's Bible questions. This machine is perfect for my needs. With a 2GB memory card, it still has a lot of room for other programs like Book Reader, games, or whatever. I'm learning how to use the PDA features, too. As long as there's no catastrophic failure, I may just be able to throw my sticky notes away. I love that I can use my own ugly handwriting to make notes, or I can type neat ones. The only thing that could be called a problem that I've experienced so far is that occasionally it loads something from the library so slowly that I have to reset it. No real problem, though, since the reset takes less that a minute. I have yet to find anything that I don't like about, although I've never had a comparable machine like Palm Pilot or whatever. Some folks could probably get by without a PC if they had one of these. A wireless card is available, or you can use your bluetooth phone with it to get online. With the proper stuff, you can print from it. You can also get a bluetooth keyboard for it. What more do you need for basic computing? If you use it a lot, it's recommended that you have a backup battery. However, I don't see how you can switch batteries without losing your data. Of course, if you were near your PC, you could sync and put it all back on in a few minutes. Or, if you set it to store all data on your memory card, that should work, too. I would recommend this unit to anyone who doesn't need the latest. Otherwise, get a Blackberry.Read full review
