I've owned 3 Keurig coffee makers and got a little spoiled by the "on demand" quickness of it. When my husband decided to go back to drinking caffeinated coffee, I told him I was going to buy a drip brewer to save money. K-cups are expensive and the filters to use with ground coffee just never give you a strong enough brew. When I saw that Hamilton Beach had a model that would work with K-cups I knew that that was the one I wanted. I had read the reviews and knew about some of the quirks, like the hotplate under the carafe side gets hot when your using the single brew, so I have to remember to either take the carafe off the plate or just put a glass of water in the carafe. I also read that the brewing time for the K-cups takes twice as long as a Keurig machine, I do miss the "on demand" hot water the Keurig provides once you fill up the reservoir with water, I drink a lot of tea in winter. I just nuke a cup of water now and it's just as fast. Now the other two quirks I had to learn the hard way. #1 - If you don't make sure the bottom of the K-cup gets punctured when you push it down the water just comes back out the top and you get a cup of hot water with grounds in it. #2 - If you get the bottom punctured, but forget to push down the lever that punctures the top of the K-cup, you will get a cup of hot water without grounds in it. With that said, I have to say the little filter that comes with the brewer for the single cup side, works GREAT! It holds a generous amount of ground coffee so you can brew a 14oz travel mug cup of coffee and have it nice and strong. All in all, I'm very happy with this brewer I'm especially glad that it cost a whole lot less then buying one of the new Keurig brewers that has the carafe. I didn't like the way Keurig was going with their products getting more expensive and the "printer/ink" mentality was just too costly for me. Besides.... it's all about the coffee, not the machine it's made in. You can spend your money on the machine or you can spend it on "GREAT" coffee..... you decide.Read full review

This unit makes some of the best coffee I have ever tasted, much better than my old percolator. Very easy to use especially the K cup feature. It brews a great cup of tea also. Brew time is pretty fast and clean up is easy. Would buy it again without hesitation.

This little perker brews a great cup of Jo! It drips water at just the right temp for just the right amount of time to make the flavor and bitterness balance perfectly. It is easy to program and you don't need a math degree to set the time. The price is half the competition. Very good deal!!!

We’ve been wanting a coffee pot like this for a while and wouldn’t you know we get it and can’t use it. This thing leaked out three different places other than where water was suppose to come out of. I have to say the seller has been helpful and offers free returns so that’s a plus!
