Almost all filters will protect your lens without optical...ly distorting the image. However, most inexpensive filters have inferior multi-coating, and reflections will show up in your pictures when you shot towards lights. The Hoya filters have very good multi-coating. A simple test is to hold the filter at an angle and look at the reflection of a nearby light bulb. If the reflection is faint, you have good multi-coating. If the reflection is strong (like looking at a mirror), the multi-coating is poor.

I have used Hoya filters for a long time. I fi...nd they are equal to the higher priced brands for all but the most critical applications (and most photographers don't actually have many of those). I recommend them.

The multicoating is thick. Optic is very clear. And price is... well reasonable for the quality. No need to buy the more expensive pro1digital except if you want slim and lighter weight.

great product, minor influence on images. I purchased one an...d I must say that I am impressed. These UV Filters are inexpensive and a lens saver. I highly recommend putting these on every lens you own to protect the lens from scratches while giving you almost same images. easy to use and to clean.
