A wonderful hard drive, outstanding value!
This HDD was brand new. I had to remove the IBM cage and adapter which made it hot-swappable, install it in my desktop, and then 1) Initialize it, 2) Partition it, and 3) Format it. Be warned, Win XP makes it very difficult to even access the "wizard" which helps you to do steps 2 and 3. This is the WORST wizard I have ever seen. The Format takes hours, on any computer. The end result is a very quiet and smooth-running HDD.
