So far my upgrading of Intel CPU to a T8100 has gone without much problem. I have so far upgrade a HP DV5 and Gateway M-6860 and Dell 1525 to T8100 and will upgrade a HP DV4 to T8100 as well. The T8100 does reduce battery usage and since processor is 45nm based technology reduces the amount of heat generated by the CPU for better over all power consumption savings. I know that some Intel based CPU that is based on T6xxxx and T7xxxx socket and some Pentium based socket can be upgraded to T8100 CPU. But as with any CPU upgrade make sure your BIOS will support that newer CPU and upgrade your BIOS prior to switching to the newer to avoid any unforeseen problem with the new CPU install.
This processor help really well I finally upgrade my Intel Celeron 900 processor
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Bought this CPU twice to upgrade two of my family laptops and they are both reborned. With the latest codec packs and 3gb of RAM at least this CPU can play HD 1080p video flawlessly. Highly recommended. Low consumption due to 3MB cache.
Cheap upgrade for older laptops! Runs Linux Mint 14 quite well. Decent processing power performance to price ratio. There are faster, but this should work in almost all older laptops and once again - can't beat the price!
